Live music!

On August 31 I saw Corn Mo at the Palace of Wonders. A few things. First, Palace of Wonders, even though I'm kinda over the ambiance, is cool. Cool because it's pretty art-y for DC. Now, if that's only because non-DC acts stop through, so what? At least they're stoppin'. We saw the end of Corn Mo's solo accordion/piano set, then his full band, with a special treat of a trapeze artist! If I can ever figure out how to post pics, that'd be a good one to start with. He sang one song that goes, in part, "Maybe tonight I'll take you out for ice cream. Maybe! Maybe! Maybe tonight I'll take you out for dinner. Maybe! Maybe!" Anyway, I recognized it as a song that is somewhere on my backup hard drive, by a group with the word "Orchestra" in the title. Can anyone help me solve this mystery? Was Corn Mo in that group?

On September 1, it was VHS or Beta at Rock 'N Roll Hotel. I so dig this venue. I wish it well going forward. I missed part of the set, and was told what I missed was miss-able. (Is that a word?) What I saw was totally fun, though. Short, but indie bands do that. Then some late night Guitar Hero. Damn I heart Guitar Hero.

Noisettes on Tuesday, people!
