Band of Horses, CDs, and shows
I sold about half of my CD collection, and am mailing the other half. Sorta weird. Am I that broke? No. Am I that genuine about trying to reduce clutter? Um, well, maybe. Probably not, though. I was going to mail them to my readers, but according to my stats, there are only about seven of you. That helps explain why only two people took me up on the offer. That's 28% of you! I was going to upload all of them on my computer, but that just seemed too time consuming. So I'm sorta broke but not really, trying to reduce clutter but not really, and lazy. Any questions? So much good stuff will soon be on to a new home. And ironically, one of the very few CDs that wasn't purchased was Olu Dara's "Neighborhoods," a brilliant work by a bona fide artist. Just thought I'd share that.
And another thought I had today was how I haven't actually been listening to a lot of music. Not sure why that hasn't been happening, either. Time, of course, is one big factor. Can't do much listening at work because somehow it's thought to make you look, what, exactly? Like you're not focused? Doesn't make sense to me either. But today I listened to the entire Band of Horses set from Nic's show. Damn good stuff. Good enough to run to their site and look for tour dates and be disappointed in seeing none, save the sold out shows for their NYE run. And now on to Mocean Worker, which certainly seems fun so far into song number one.
More tickets in hand for another show! At what I think will also be the first time I go to a very old NYC venue to see a very new band. (No album yet, to my knowledge.) Have I ever mentioned how much I enjoy live music? You probably gathered that.
