Crazy kids

Headed to Europa for the first time on Wednesday to see some music. We got there for the last few songs of Holy Hail. Crap. Then was The Death Set. I just recently watched something on MTV about how Manhattan sucks and the only thing good about New York right now is Brooklyn. Why was I watching it? I surfed my way over there somehow when the news was announced that the 21st season of The Real World will be in Brooklyn. Anyway, people interviewed for the segment kept talking about how the crowds in Brooklyn were way more active than in Manhattan. Based on my observations on Wednesday, they might have a point. The band set up not on the stage but in the crowd, and people were going absolutely nuts. It was a pretty cool scene, even if the music was nothing terribly unique. Oh, another song where you scream loudly? Got it. Then the headliners, who loyal readers will recognize from an entry many moons ago, Bonde de Role. They were totally fun, and people were going absolutely nuts, with the requisite people jumping on stage to dance and all the usual accoutrements of an indie rock show. The problem was, it was three singers and a DJ, with no live music whatsoever. Even calling that guy a DJ is being a bit generous, since he basically was a glorified play button, not doing anything to change the music from night to night, it seems. With that criticism out of the way, it was totally fun, since the energy was very high and I like their music. Some photographic evidence of my presence:

Finally, below, you can see one of the singers making her way back onto the stage.

Off to Bkln again tonight. Oh Manhattan, when will you entertain me again?
