The word "weird" comes to mind
The King Khan & BBQ Show. Went to see them last night, basically because someone told me to. Didn't know much about them. After I bought the tickets (one for me, one for Marvel's Thanksgiving weekend babysitter, who deserved an escape after my little girl barfed all over her carpet), the show was pumped up in The New Yorker as well. Vivian Girls opened, but we got there too late! We're so rock n roll. I knew my source wouldn't let me down. Their music is good enough that they really don't need a gimmick. Nonetheless, they've chosen a crazy gimmick, as seen below.
I generally forget that I even own a video camera. I decided last night to take it and try to capture some of the event. It worked for approximately 45 seconds, when I was grabbed by security and kicked out of the venue. I was able to get back in on the condition that I leave the camera at coat check. Would've really stunk to be out in the rain when I had a ticket to this craziness. Some day, when I post my Laura Marling video, maybe I'll post the 45 seconds I have of this. But I might be exaggerating, 'cause I'm not sure if I actually have 45 seconds. Man they were on me quick. Anyway, good times.
