Well I gave an xMas gift that gave right back to me: two tickets to see the inimitable Liza Minnelli at The Palace on Broadway. None of this indie rock, in and out in 45 minutes crap. This was some Phish length entertainment! The first set was just her singing with her massive backing band, and the second set was a tribute to Kay Thompson, someone I know too little about. I know almost nothing about Liza, either, but at least I'd heard of her before I bought tickets to this. Now, like most of us, Liza ain't what she used to be. But damn, if I could sing and dance with that energy at 62 I'd be a happy man. She seemed so happy to be there, so happy to be playing to a packed crowd. You weren't supposed to take pictures. I tried to anyway, and what with my super amazing iphone camera, failed miserably. This picture of nothing at setbreak will have to hold you over until my next concert. Which is what? Dunno. Don't worry. I've got some ideas.
