Catching up before I fall behind again

On January 8 it was off to Terminal 5 to see Passion Pit.  We missed the first opener, and the middle band was Rural Alberta Advantage.  I'd heard a few songs by them before, from where I'm not sure.  The internets, obvs, but I can't recall beyond that.  Anyway, liked it certainly didn't love it.  The one song I'd heard and did recognize is a good song, but the show overall didn't grab me.  They get a pic, though, below.

At some point in the evening we moved upstairs to join a big group of cool people and enjoyed Passion Pit's set.  I mean, the only thing I can liken it to is a Disco Biscuits show, because this crowd was insane!  It was like seeing the Beatles at Shea in '64.  OK, OK, no projectiles.  But people were bouncing in unison, singing in unison, the place was seriously moving.  The lighting at the show was fairly unique (shades of Radiohead) and run by the lighting director of My Morning Jacket.  Pretty cool that PP is selling out three shows at T5.

I listened to the 8 songs available at the myspace page for The Antlers.  Makes me want to go see them at BAM with Ra Ra Riot.  Anyone?  And another cry for help goes unheeded.

More to say soon, including something about the Coachella lineup, an N.O. funk bizz-omb that got dropped, and tonight's Radio City Show.
